Feeling lost in a life transition? You're between stories.
Why big life changes can shake our confidence, and a gentler way to think about the "in-between" time.

A life transition can feel like standing in a hallway with every door closed. The old role has ended. The new one hasn’t begun. And in that hallway, all the familiar doubts come flooding back.
If that resonates, here’s something I’d like you to hear: feeling lost during a transition is normal. It isn’t a sign you’ve failed. It’s a sign you’re growing.
Why transitions shake our confidence
Much of our confidence is borrowed from our roles: the professional, the parent, the partner, the provider. When a role ends or changes, the confidence attached to it can wobble too. We start to wonder who we are without it.
Three gentle questions for the in-between
- What has this chapter taught me about myself? Look for strengths you’ve built, not just what’s ending.
- What have I been putting aside? Often there’s an old interest, value or part of yourself that’s been waiting for its turn.
- What does “a little more like me” look like this week? Not the whole answer. Just a small step in the right direction.
You don’t have to work it out alone
The in-between is where real change becomes possible, and it’s much easier with someone alongside you. If you’d like to talk it through, book a free discovery call.
